We had the absolute pleasure of shooting Samantha & Roel’s wedding on Nov 7, 2015. It was a stunner – that is for sure. We met Samantha at a wedding show and right away we knew that her bubbly and happy personality was the perfect fit for us. We started off with Roel and their son, Arjan getting ready at the condo. We absolutely LOVE when couples involve their kids to the extent that Samantha and Roel did. Even we get sentimental when looking at these photos as we know that in years from now, when Arjan is grown, these memories will be profoundly cherished. We then headed out to the ladies where we met up with a super excited Samantha! It was so refreshing to see a bride so excited to get married – not a care in the world except for enjoying every moment as it happened. You can see from the photos – the joy, excitement and love these folks have for each other.
Photography & Cinematography: Little Blue Lemon
Venue: Joy Bistro
Entertainment: The Sound Parade
Wedding Planner: Brianna Morrison of Status Events
Wedding Dress: It was a donation from The Brides Project to the Double Take store on Gerrard and Parliament and I paid $50 buck for it. Tizz on Queen St East modified it for me as it was 3 sizes too big. It had a train and 2 bustles and Tizz made it into a cocktail dress for me!
Wedding dress designer: Romantic Brides
Shoes: I got the shoes from Value Village for $20 bucks and they were in brand new condition.
Groom’s suit from (rental or custom): Freemans
Ushers suits: Freemans
Jewelry/Rings: Tracy Borlase Jewellery. She made the cufflinks and our rings as well as the gifts to for our brides maids. My necklace and earrings were a Chinatown find. I separated the large part of the earring to the small part and hot glued the big part to my shoes.
Décor/Linens: Winners, Marshalls, Bed Bath and Beyond, Costco.ca and Michaels had everything I needed to make up the industrial look I was going for.
Florist: Costco.ca!!!! friends and bridal party put the arrangements and bouquets together. If you noticed, I didn’t carry a bouquet. I don’t like flowers, but I love books and photos, so I carried a photo album of our 14 yrs together instead!
Hair & Make-up done: Hair was done at Fuss on Queen St East by Siobban. Make up was done by bride.
Wedding Cake: My friend Luisa made it.
Anything other super special you can think of: I have to say an extra big thank you to Geoff and the staff at Joy Bistro! They were able to get it all together at the last minute since we changed venues 2 weeks before the day. My guests were happy and said the food was fantastic. Brianna was able to change gears and make the night a huge success. The people at the Printing Factory on Carlaw were kind enough to let us take photos in and around the building. I fully enjoyed the film crew…they were exactly what I needed to enjoy my day! they matched my silliness and it was great to be able to be myself even though I was in full formal wear! Tony and Danielle, you guys were great and I’m so thankful that we met you guys that fateful day.
